Society management app: your questions answered
Is it really free, what is paid, how is resident data kept private, and how long does setup take?
Is FlatOrbit really free?
Yes. Every feature (maintenance bills, visitor gate, help desk, notices, polls, amenity booking, move-in records and reports) is free for every society, with no per-flat fees and no ads.
What is paid, then?
Only optional add-ons that cost us money to deliver, such as WhatsApp messages, which are charged per message. Everything else, including email and in-app notifications, stays free.
Is there a limit on flats or residents?
No fixed limit for normal housing societies. Very large or multi-society setups can talk to us about support.
How is our residents' data kept private?
Each society's data is kept separate, staff see only the properties they manage, every important change is recorded in an audit log, and FlatOrbit never stores Aadhaar numbers. FlatOrbit does not sell data or show ads.
Which languages does FlatOrbit support?
English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Every person picks their own language.
How long does it take to set up our society?
Most societies are running in a day: sign up, add blocks and flats (or send us your spreadsheet to import), and invite owners and tenants.
Do residents need to install an app?
No. FlatOrbit works in any phone browser and can be added to the home screen like an app.
Can we move from another society app or Excel?
Yes. Flats can be imported from a spreadsheet, and we help with moving owner and tenant records.
Who can use FlatOrbit?
Apartment associations and RWAs, facility and property managers running several societies, and builders handing over new projects.
